NEMA 250
“Enclosures for Electrical Equipment” (North American market)
The NEMA 250 (National Electrical Manufacturers Association) standard is used primarily in North America to define and classify the tightness of enclosures for electrical equipment against the ingress of solid foreign matter and water.
The NEMA rating also covers resistance to corrosion, mould, impact, vermin, and even powdery snow or ice, as well as use in explosive atmospheres. -
IEC 60529
“Degrees of protection provided by enclosures (IP Index)”
IEC 60529 is used throughout the rest of the world. Its purpose is to define the degrees of protection provided by electrical equipment enclosures with regard to:
- Personnel protection against access to hazardous parts inside the enclosure
- Protection of equipment inside the enclosure against ingress of solid foreign matter
- Protection of equipment inside the enclosure against the harmful effects of water ingress

sealed devices
Unlike other manufacturers’ devices, DECONTACTOR™‘s are sealed as soon as they are connected, with no need to screw on a cover on the socket side and/or turn a sealing ring on the plug side.
Our devices are resistant to chemicals and can withstand the most aggressive cleaning agents. IP66/IP67/IP69 rated, they meet the requirements of frequent washing in production areas. Once the MARECHAL® equipment has been separated, the contacts are inaccessible: IP4X/IPXXD.
Operators are fully protected against the risk of electric shock.
